Frequently Asked Questions

This page contains frequently asked questions about GISS and the Services we provide.

What's the difference between the GUL Wavemaker G4 and Teletest Mach 4 Focus Guided Wave tools?

The two tools began under the same roof (Imperial College and TWI, both in the UK) and went on to be two distinctive but very similar tool technologies. They both use torsional transducers to create bulk guided waves and they can both be retooled to shoot longitudinally propagated wave modes. Their software is where they differ the most and the fact that the G4 has a two ring torsional configuration while the Mach 4 has a 3 ring longitudinal with 2 ring torsional multimode configuration and now a strictly 5 ring torsional optional configuration.

What level of GWT certification does GISS (USA) technicians hold?
